Veterinary Nursing Staff Kennett Square, PA
Aaliyah worked in the veterinary field for 10 years before we were lucky enough to have her join our team here at Longwood in January of 2010. She graduated from Delaware State University with her Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary Science in 2000. She has one dog named Cy. She does a variety of jobs in the hospital, from providing nursing care, assisting with appointments and procedures, to doing reception at the front desk. She enjoys watching football, traveling to new places, attending church, and enjoying the love of life.
Alisa joined LVC in June of 2012. She previously worked part-time at another animal hospital while completing her Veterinary Technology degree from DTCC in the summer of 2011. Prior to becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician in the state of DE, she worked as a canine obedience instructor or 2.5 years. She also has a degree in Environmental Studies from Temple University. Her cat Cecil is her pride and joy. When she is not working, Alisa enjoys working out, dancing and hiking with friends and family, and beach days with her fiancé. She looks forward to many more years of helping families care for their furry friends!
Andrea joined the ladies of Longwood Veterinary Center in October 2010. She spends her days (and nights) caring for the many wonderful patients here in the hospital. She has taken a special interest in dentistry, radiology, and she manages the Canine Blood Donor program. Andrea says the favorite thing about her job, besides the awesome team, is that every day brings a new and exciting challenge. She lives in Chester County with her husband, the best dog in the world Mongo, and her 3 cats: Hoover, Harpua, and BDC. On her days off she enjoys spending time with her husband and Mongo.
Ashley has been here since 2007 and received her Associates degree from Colorado Mountain College. She provides nursing care for our patients and assistance to the doctors during examinations. She especially enjoys monitoring anesthesia during surgeries and procedures. She has an English Bulldog named Boomer and 2 Maine Coons named Penny Layne and Fiddy Cent.
Carlie joined the LVC team in November of 2015. She is passionate about working with cats and dogs, but also enjoys working with exotics. In her spare time she likes to go hiking, kayaking, and take cross country adventures with her special needs pup. She also shares her home with 3 cats, 2 lizards and 3 tarantulas.
Dana has worked at Longwood since 2001. She received her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, her Associate degree in Veterinary Technology and is a Certified Veterinary Technician. With her experience she has stepped into the position of Technician Manager. Responsibilities include training new staff members, helping to implement new protocols, and staying current on advancements in veterinary medicine. She enjoys anesthesia, dentistry, and oncology.
Dawn has been at Longwood since 1999. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from the University of Delaware. Outside of work, Dawn enjoys being in the sun and traveling to warm places. She has three cats, all named after Disney characters, and a dog named Panda.
Emily has been at LVC since September of 2013. She completed her degree in veterinary technology beginning at Harcum College and graduating from DTCC. At LVC, she loves the challenge of working with fearful kitties. She enjoys gardening and time spent with her husband Glenn, their 3 kitties (Tehya, Tinsel, and Chevy), and their growing two legged family.
Heather has worked at Longwood since 2006. She received her Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology from Harcum College. She enjoys providing nursing care to all our wonderful patients.
Katelyn has worked here off and on since 2012, but joined our team full time in 2014. She received her Associates in Veterinary Technology from the Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh PA. She loves her job as a licensed technician, providing nursing care to our patients and assisting the doctors in exam rooms. During her days off she enjoys anything outdoors, whether it is running, hiking, or just enjoying nature.
Laura has worked at Longwood since the hospital opened in 1998. She received her Animal Health Technology degree at Harcum College and has been working in the field for 22 years. She enjoys working with all of our patients, especially critical care cases. She has a special knack for working with scared and fearful patients and also for fostering and raising puppies and kittens. She volunteered as a member of the Emergency Animal Response Team in Louisiana during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and in Tennessee assisting in a neglect case of 84 horses. She has 3 dogs of her own. In her free time she enjoys riding horses and running agility with her dog Bella.
Libby arrived at LVC in the spring of 2012 after over 17 years of experience ranging from specialty surgery groups to obedience training. As a CGC (Canine Good Citizen) evaluator and member of Shutzhund Club; she enjoys training with all pets to enrich their and their human’s lives. She is a licensed veterinary technician in both Delaware and Maryland; she obtained her Associates Degree in Animal Science from CCBC in 2006. Her animals include 2 dogs, 3 cats, and 9 chickens. In her spare time she enjoys dog training, outdoor activities ranging from kayaking, camping, boating and biking with her husband and children.
Loraine joined our team in October of 2011 after her and her husband, Larry, moved to their Chester County farm. Her love of animals is not only apparent in her day to day care of our patients, but can be seen at home with her many pets, including several dogs- both hunting breeds and rescues, Tennessee Walking horses, barn cats, a rabbit, and homing pigeons. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors- hunting, gardening, horseback riding, as well as cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.
Megan has been at Longwood since 2004. She earned her Associates in Early Childhood Education at Delaware Technical and Community College and received her Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology at Harcum College. She enjoys working with and caring for our patients. She has a dog named Munster and a cat named Jasmine.
Tara graduated with honors from Delaware Technical and Community College in 2012, where she earned her degree in Veterinary Technology. She is a Licensed Veterinary Technician in both Pennsylvania and Delaware, which required passing a national board exam. Tara joined the LVC team in September of 2012 and took on a variety of responsibilities, some of which include adoption coordinator and social media director. She has never been happier to come to work each day. Her favorite aspects of this profession are bonding with patients and the constant learning environment it provides.
Terry has worked part time at Longwood since 1998. She has a full time position in the research department of the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania’s large animal facility, New Bolton Center. She provides nursing care to our patients, as well as overnight ICU care for critical cases. Terry has numerous cats, all named after classical composers.
